VANILLA SYRUP

This recipe comes from one of our favorite spots in Columbus, Ohio called Fox in the Snow. If you are in the neighborhood and head there for a visit, it is a must stop. They use our pure vanilla extract in their vanilla syrup and kindly shared a small-batch recipe for home.

Materials:

Small saucepan

1 cup of water

1 cup of white sugar

1 tbsp vanilla extract

Stovetop or induction burner

Timer

Storage bottle

To make:

  1. Measure out water, sugar and vanilla extract.

  2. Pour water into the saucepan and bring to a boil. Add sugar and simmer on low heat for 4 minutes.

  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes before adding the vanilla extract and stirring thoroughly.

  4. Very carefully transfer the finished syrup to a storage bottle. Mark with the date and allow the syrup to fully cool before storing in the refrigerator.

To serve:

  1. Add 1 oz of syrup to any drink, or desired amount to taste.

  2. Vanilla syrup will keep for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
